Databricks builds the Lakehouse Platform that unifies data engineering, analytics, and AI, and the company’s workforce now numbers roughly 8,000 people. Recently released staffing data shows that more than 1,600 employees were added, while about 500 departed, resulting in continued net expansion. The scale of the team reflects Databricks’ focus on product innovation, go-to-market execution, and customer success in the data and AI software sector.
Nearly half of all Databricks employees work in Engineering, a group of just under 4,000 people responsible for developing and operating the Lakehouse Platform. Sales and Support is the second-largest function at about 1,800 employees, underscoring the company’s emphasis on revenue growth and customer adoption. Marketing and Product, Information Technology, and Business Management collectively account for another 1,400 employees, while Finance, HR, Operations, and Consulting round out the remaining headcount. Attrition levels are modest across all functions, indicating relative stability throughout the organization.
Databricks maintains a distributed footprint with employees across North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific. The largest single concentration is in San Francisco, which hosts a little over 1,000 team members, followed by Seattle and New York. European hubs such as London and Amsterdam, along with an engineering center in Bengaluru, each support several hundred employees, and emerging offices in Austin, Chicago, and Singapore add further regional coverage. A significant portion of employees fall under "Other" locations, reflecting a mix of smaller offices and remote workers worldwide.
