How to integrate Unify with HubSpot
To integrate Unify with HubSpot, connect the HubSpot account in Unify, map Company and Person fields, and resume syncing. Enable writing separately for supported CRM updates. Check deal context and company associations before using the data to qualify or exclude accounts.[1]

When this workflow makes sense
Start with the decision your team needs to make, then choose the connection that supports it.
A contact’s activity can look promising while the company already has an open deal. That changes the next step. Decide how deal context should affect outreach, then make the contact handoff useful by selecting a small set of destination properties. Record presence and correct associations deserve separate checks.
A good fit when
Teams using HubSpot as the working record for contacts, companies, and deals while building outbound audiences and Plays in Unify.
Reconsider the plan when
If a decision depends on a newly changed association, inspect its availability before treating the workflow as ready. Association refresh and record sync are different processes.
Design the handoff
Use this framework to agree on the input, the next action, and who owns the result.
Suggested workflow design, based on the documented capabilities below.
| Stage | Decision to make |
|---|---|
| Relationship | Define what customer and deal status mean for the intended outreach. |
| Association | Inspect the company and deal relationship behind a contact before testing the exclusion. |
| Handoff | Select the existing HubSpot properties the receiving rep will actually use. |
| Review | Check contact identity and the supported write behavior instead of expecting every populated property to change. |

Use deal context to qualify outreach
A company looks active, but an open HubSpot deal should change how the team follows up.
Treat deal records and their associations as separate checks. Associations refresh on a different schedule.
- Choose the deal and customer criteria your team uses
- Inspect those records and their company associations in Unify
- Test the exclusion before adding live contacts to the workflow
Keep a contact handoff in HubSpot
A rep needs an existing contact updated with the available Unify context.
Check contact identity and destination properties before enabling writes. Do not expect all populated properties to change.
- Map the Company and Person fields needed for the handoff
- Create any custom HubSpot properties before selecting them
- Run a controlled write and inspect the matching contact

Define success before launch
Inspect the data and the intended outcome separately. Connection status is only the first check.
Expected, not tested
Mapped HubSpot records become available in Unify, and an enabled write action updates or creates the supported record expected by your workflow.
Inspect contact identity, company association, and the specific properties used by your Play. A successful read does not validate a write or an association refresh.

Questions answered
Common decisions when connecting Unify and HubSpot.
How does Unify connect to HubSpot?
Connect from Unify integration settings, authorize the HubSpot account, review field mappings, and select Resume. Enable writing to HubSpot separately if you want supported records to flow back to the CRM.[1]
How often does HubSpot data reach Unify?
Read syncs are scheduled approximately every 15 minutes. Associations refresh daily on a separate schedule. Large record changes and mapping reprocessing can extend the time before updates are visible.[2]
Does Unify create or update HubSpot deals?
No. HubSpot deals are read into Unify as opportunity records and can inform context, filters, and exclusions. Their creation and updates remain in HubSpot.[2]
Can I map custom HubSpot properties?
Yes. Create the custom property in HubSpot before selecting it in the Unify field mapping. Review Company and Person mappings for the properties your team needs.[3]
Does Unify remove existing HubSpot duplicates?
No. It does not deduplicate your HubSpot database. When multiple matching contacts or companies exist, the documented write behavior selects the most recently modified matching record.[2]
Limits & decisions
Check these boundaries before designing a live workflow around the connection.
- Record reads and association refreshes have different schedules
- Existing CRM duplicates are not cleaned up by this integration
- A connected account does not automatically enable writing
What the connection supports
Understand the connection, the data involved, and the behavior that matters for a Unify + HubSpot workflow.
Read sync + enabled writes
| Decision | What to know |
|---|---|
| Read schedule | Approximately every 15 minutes[2] |
| Association schedule | Daily, separately from record read syncs[2] |
| Contact matching | Email address; most recently modified match is updated if duplicates exist[2] |
| Company matching | Normalized company website domain[2] |
| Existing values | Empty properties can be filled; populated properties are preserved except Unify-specific fields[2] |
| Deals | Read as opportunities for context and exclusions; not created or updated by Unify[2] |
Field mappings connect Unify fields to HubSpot properties. Custom properties must already exist. Global default values can supply fallbacks; a mapped field takes precedence over a default for that property.

References and requirements for the HubSpot connection.
Connection requirements and setup checklist
Before connecting
- A HubSpot account you can authorize Unify to access
- Access to Unify integration settings and the relevant HubSpot properties
- A list of fields needed for customer exclusions, ownership, and intended writes
Authorize HubSpot
Open Settings → Integrations → HubSpot in Unify, select Connect, and authorize access to the correct HubSpot account.[1]
Start reads and configure writes
Select Resume to begin reading data. Enable writing to HubSpot separately when the mapped fields and intended sync actions are ready.[1]
Check a record and its association
Use a record you control to compare the contact, company, and the fields needed by your Play. Review associations separately from ordinary field updates because they run on a different schedule.[2]
Troubleshooting
Start with the stage where the expected data or action stops appearing.
The contact arrived but the association is missing
Association syncs run daily, separately from the approximately 15-minute read schedule. Check the source relationship in HubSpot before assuming a field mapping failed.[2]
A custom property is unavailable
Create the property in HubSpot first, then return to the Company or Person mapping in Unify.[3]
An existing value did not change
Check the overwrite rules. Populated properties are preserved unless they are Unify-specific properties.[2]
