In this beginner-friendly walkthrough, I’ll show you how to install and configure the Unify Chrome extension, and then demonstrate how to use it while prospecting on LinkedIn or LinkedIn Sales Navigator. With just a few clicks, you’ll be able to enrich contact data and add prospects directly into Unify sequences—all without ever leaving your browser.

To start, head over to the Chrome Web Store and search for “Unify.” Look for the extension published under unifygtm.com and make sure it displays the official Unify logo. Click into the listing, hit “Add to Chrome,” and then confirm by selecting “Add Extension.” Once installed, click the puzzle icon in the top-right corner of your Chrome browser to view all installed extensions, where you’ll find Unify ready to go.

Next, navigate to a LinkedIn profile—for this demo, we’ll use my colleague Peter from the Growth team. Click the Unify Chrome extension icon to open the extension panel. You’ll be prompted to log into your Unify account. After logging in, the extension will automatically surface any matching records already in your Unify instance. In Peter’s case, we see two records: one from his current role at Unify and one from his previous position at Justworks, where he was a customer. This is a good example of how Unify tracks and displays historical context for contacts.

Once you select the correct record—in this case, Peter’s Unify email—you’ll be presented with enrichment and sequencing options. If the email address is already known, Unify will attempt to enrich only missing fields like the phone number. If not, it will use a proprietary waterfall of enrichment providers to populate both email and phone fields. The core functionality here is the ability to immediately add the contact to a sequence. Simply select the sending mailbox and choose the desired sequence, then click “Add to Sequence.”

Once enrolled, you can scroll through the extension panel to view additional insights, including company-level intent signals based on recent web activity, company metadata, and a list of coworkers who may also be worth targeting.

To finish the loop, let’s check where this manual email task appears in the Unify Task Dashboard. By filtering the assignee to yourself and selecting task type “Manual Email,” you’ll see that the email you triggered via the Chrome extension has been queued and is awaiting your personalization. Because it’s a manual task, the email will include pre-filled variables but leave space for you to add custom touches before sending. This ensures your outreach remains thoughtful and high-quality.

And that’s it! You’ve now successfully installed the Unify Chrome extension, enriched and sequenced a contact on the fly, and tracked your manual email in the task dashboard. It’s one of the fastest ways to move from research to outreach in a single motion.
