NEXTDC is an Australian data-centre and digital infrastructure provider that employs roughly 130 people worldwide. The company added just over two dozen new team members while seeing a slightly lower number of departures, signalling stable yet deliberate growth. A lean workforce supports NEXTDC’s network of data centres, interconnection services, and managed solutions across Australia and selected international markets.
Sales and Support is the largest group at NEXTDC, representing about one-quarter of all employees with 35 people. Engineering follows with 28 specialists who design, build and optimise the company’s data-centre footprint, while Business Management contributes 21 employees focused on strategy and corporate governance. Finance & Administration (14), Program & Project Management (9), Information Technology (7) and Operations (7) provide essential back-office and service delivery functions, complemented by smaller Marketing & Product (5) and Legal (3) teams. An additional four employees fall into the Other category, reflecting roles that do not align neatly with the primary departments.
The workforce is concentrated in Australia’s key metropolitan hubs: Sydney hosts 34 employees, Melbourne 30 and Brisbane 32, together accounting for more than three-quarters of total headcount. Smaller site operations are located in Perth and Canberra, while a modest international presence spans Petaling Jaya, India, Belfast and Singapore. Twenty-two team members are classified under Other locations, suggesting a mix of remote or field-based roles that support customer sites and regional infrastructure. This distribution aligns with NEXTDC’s focus on servicing major economic centres while maintaining strategic outposts across the Asia-Pacific and EMEA regions.
