The Commissionable Sales Force Play is designed for go-to-market teams selling tools for managing commissions or sales operations, and it solves one critical challenge: how to ensure you’re only targeting companies that actually have a commissionable sales force. Instead of spending time manually researching headcount or sifting through LinkedIn profiles, Unify allows you to automate this entire process—from qualification to outreach—using a custom-built AI agent and intelligent workflows.

To begin, you’ll create an AI agent in Unify to determine whether a company has a commissionable sales team and how large that team is. Inside the Agents tab, you can name your agent something like “Does the company have a commissionable sales force?”, set the record type to Company, and configure it to answer two core questions: first, whether the company has a commissionable sales team (returning a true or false response), and second, how many sellers the company currently employs (returning a numeric value). This dual-question approach enables you to route different messaging based on the scale of the sales force, which is especially helpful if your product resonates more with companies that manage ten or more reps. Once tested and verified with sample companies, the agent can be saved and used in any outbound automation.

Next, you’ll define the personas most relevant to your solution. In this play, those typically include heads of sales, revenue operations leaders, and finance executives. Unify’s Persona Builder makes it easy to identify and segment these roles by including the right job titles and excluding irrelevant ones like junior sellers or analysts. These personas can then be used across multiple campaigns and plays.

Now you’re ready to create the actual play. In the Plays tab, you’ll start by setting the trigger to fire on a target account list or predefined territory. The AI agent you built earlier will qualify those companies by determining if they have a commissionable sales force and whether the seller count meets your minimum threshold—say, ten or more. Companies that pass this criteria will automatically advance through the play. Unify’s Prospecting Node then searches for up to five people at each qualified company who match the personas you defined earlier. Once prospects are found, a Loop Node runs through each person individually and routes them into the appropriate outbound sequence based on their role. For instance, a Head of Sales might be routed into a sequence tailored to the pain of scaling commission management, while a RevOps leader could receive messaging focused on operational efficiency and data accuracy.

This entire workflow is designed to run continuously, giving you a scalable and precise way to identify high-fit accounts, discover key decision-makers, and reach out with the right message at the right time—all without manual lift.
