Unify’s Champion Tracking Play helps sales teams stay connected with their strongest advocates by automatically tracking when champions change jobs. Instead of relying on manual LinkedIn searches or outdated contact lists, this play identifies recent job changes and gives you a chance to reach out early, starting the conversation about your product at their new company. The video begins by showing how to access the Plays tab, create a new play from the Sequence Champions template, and ensure all dependencies are set before building your automation.
Once in the play builder, the setup focuses on the trigger node, which determines when the automation fires. By using Unify’s champion tracking filter, you can find contacts who have changed jobs within a specific time frame—such as the past three or six months—and immediately see a populated list of those champions. The tutorial then explains how to route these contacts into the right outreach sequences based on their persona. For example, heads of sales and heads of marketing can each be sent to targeted sequences, using the right mailbox and messaging for each role.
